Paintings about excess and the line between extravagance and bad taste.
These are a series of works about saturated good and bad taste. It is kitschy but with a strangeness that often surfaces when there seem to be competing forms of taste and sensibility in one image. One is what seems like a California bungalow that has Louis XIV style ormolu and tacked on, then there are female bodybuilders which never featured before in the history of the female nude. Another tension in these works is that so much time and attention have been lavished on subjects that could be considered trivial or eccentric.
