The House of the Man Whose Two Children Killed Themselves

A "physiognomy of a house" of a house where the two children of the owner hanged themselves.
The photographs were taken while I was on a residency in northern Finland during the period of the summer solstice. Whether an integral fact of a coincidence, Finland has one of the highest per capita suicide rates in the world. I was told about this house and I decided to make a "portrait" of it and its grounds. I am deeply fascinated by what our imagination brings to places and objects when stirred by narratives, suspicions, mysteries. I sought to capture a feeling of inscrutability while at the same time giving life to the ghosts that lurk in scarred, heavy locales.
